Charities and Social Enterprise

Nigel’s experience in the charity and social enterprise sector encompasses being a former Trustee, Company Secretary and Treasurer of a charity (Vauxhall City Farm) and working on training or consultancy projects for social enterprises (for example: Fashion Enter; Creative United; Cockpit Arts; Centre for Fashion Enterprise) offering business support to new designers and designer/makers in the creative industries and to manufacturing companies.

Nigel has also delivered workshops for creative industry students at colleges such as the University of the Arts London (UAL), Centre for Fashion Enterprise (part of the London College of Fashion) and Istituto Marangoni. He has held senior positions at Make Uk (formerly EEF), a large, long established, not-for-profit organisation representing the manufacturing sector.

This experience includes working on government-funded projects –for example: the London Manufacturing Advisory Service; Business Link’s Engineering Link; Commercialising Creative Content (for Cockpit Arts); Business Investment Readiness (for Cockpit Arts/British Council); Creative Industry Finance programme (for Creative United); Prosper Project (for Creative United); Fashion Technology and Emerging Futures (for Centre for Fashion Enterprise and Creative United); and N17 Creative Calling (for Fashion Enter).
